"Drying
out" the Skin is not the answer for acne reduction.
There
are many myths about acne like "You have to dry out
the skin to get rid of acne". It is not necessary to
"dry out" the skin to fight acne. In fact, drying
out the skin with harsh chemicals like Benzoyl Peroxide
only serve to damage the natural moisture balance of the
skin. Although they may be effective for a short while,
they may actually cause the acne to get worse over time,
at which point they are no longer effective. Acnesil does
not dry out the skin, but instead supports a healthy moisture
balance, while destroying the bacteria that is the real
cause of the acne, not natural skin moisture.

Can
an acne product be safe and effective without using harsh
chemicals?-
October,
1990 - Researchers and Scientists from the Department
of Dermatology, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Camperdown,
NSW publish a study comparing Tea Tree Oil with Benzol Peroxide:
The results of this study showed that 5% tea-tree oil had
a significant effect in decreasing
the patients' acne by reducing the number of "inflamed
and non-inflamed lesions" (whiteheads
and cystic acne/acne rosacea). Acnesil
uses this same ingredient, Melaleuca Alternifolia, in an
even higher, 10% formula, adding other natural acne fighting
ingredients.
